Film director Martin Scorsese intends to try himself in teaching online – he will be giving lectures on cinematography. This was reported on Friday by the magazine Variety.
According to the magazine, the director plans to start online lessons in early 2018 with the help of the MasterClass Internet site. The course of video lessons Scorsese will cost $ 90, for which they will be granted unlimited access to 20 lectures. The preliminary recording is open from September 22.
Scorsese will thoroughly disassemble his own films and tell the audience about his approach to filming. In particular, the director will tell how to build a narrative in the film, share the secrets of editing and interaction with actors during the filming.
Those who pay for the course of lectures will be able to download additional materials and a summary of each video lesson. In addition, everyone will be able to record a video with a question to the director, some of which he will later answer.
“I am delighted with this project because it gives me the opportunity to share my inspiration, experience, practice.” It will not be anything like a cliche for making films, but will give guidance to young people who are in search of their path, “says in Scorsese’s statement, which leads the publication.
Among the most famous works of Scorsese are Taxi Driver (1976), Goodfellas (1990), Aviator (2004), Shutter Island (2010), and film “The Departed” (The Departed, 2006), which earned him an Oscar in the nomination “Best Director”.
