The ninth installment of the saga is surrounded by controversy due to the bad relationship of its protagonists.
Fast & Furious is one of the most popular sagas of recent years.
But, while the films revolve around the importance of the family, behind the cameras their main protagonists have been involved in a dispute.
With a spin-off of the saga centered on the characters of Luke Hobbs (Dwayne Johnson) and Deckard Shaw (Jason Statham) recently announced and the memory of the hard words that Tyrese Gibson dedicated to La Roca in social networks assuring that it blamed the delay of the filming of the ninth installment, many fans have wondered about the future of the saga.
Now, Vin Diesel has spoken about it.
Brotherhood… and all it’s complexities. This scene was filmed in Puerto Rico, I can remember it like it was yesterday. Such a beautiful island, the people were so warm and welcoming. I turned 43 that summer… and my son Vincent was born. A woman named Jan Kelly responded to a question I had asked on Facebook, ‘who they would like to see me work with?’ She said would love to see me work with Dwayne… I listened to her request and he became Hobbs. I know there has been a lot of speculation as to why the Fast 9 release date was pushed… but it would be unfair to say it is anyone’s fault. As we plot the course to expand the Fast & Furious universe, one must be mindful to take stock of the roads we took to get here. The pillars of authenticity, family and most importantly, our loyal fan’s perspective has been instrumental in procuring success. However, like any vehicle that has run around the globe 8 times, the franchise is in need of maintenance. My good friend and the godfather of Universal, Ron Meyer has granted me the time to do just that. We have some very exciting news to share soon… stay tuned. Yours truly, Dom #FamilyAlways
The actor has kept calm in an entry of Instagram, in which he has asked the fans to be positive.
“The Brotherhood … and all its complexity,” explains the post, where he explains that it was his idea to ask Dwayne Johnson to join the saga after one suggested.
“I know there has been a lot of speculation about the delay of Fast & Furious 9, but it would be unfair to say it’s someone’s fault,” he says, adding that “like every vehicle that has toured the world 8 times, the franchise My good friend […] Ron Meyer has given us time to do that.
Although he does not mention the conflict directly, Vin Diesel makes it clear that the change in the release date is not the direct fault of anyone and simply need some time to work on certain aspects.
So it seems soon enough to know what course Fast & Furious 9 will take and if it will finally reunite the whole cast that has made the saga so famous again.
