Nikki Reed and Ian Somerhalder apologize for the Comment on Birth Control Pills

Nikki Reed, Ian Somerhalder

Nikki Reed and Ian Somerhalder have issued a new statement to explain, this time humbly, the incident of birth control pills. The couple commented on the podcast Dr. Berlin’s Informed Pregnancy how they decided to start a family, which came about two months ago with the birth of their little Bodhi Soleil Reed Somerhalder. In the interview, the actor said with laughter: “Without poor Nikki, he did not realize that I rummaged in his purse and took his contraceptives.” The networks did not remain silent about such an injustice and did not cease to point out that, if there is no knowledge, there is no consent, and that was an abusive practice.

From then on, the drama only increased. The media echoed social networks, and Nikki Reed then decided to intercede for her husband responding to a Cosmopolitan article. However, its tone was not exactly an apology, but quite the opposite: “When you listen to the podcast (you sure did not) you realize that I did not feel forced. Besides, ‘not consent’ shit is that you’re talking to me in a story out of context for the purpose of creating drama without my approval. Do not talk to me about consent. “This provoked reactions of all kinds. There were those who defended Reed, but some noted that, as much as the actress can laugh at the subject right now, it does not mean that what Somerhalder did is not an abuse anyway.

Finally, the apology

After much turmoil, the stars of ‘Vampire Chronicles’ and ‘Twilight’ have finally decided to apologize publicly for the incident. Reed has issued a statement with a much softer tone than the previous one:

It seems that the couple has realized that there was no way to justify Somerhalder’s statements on the podcast, and they have chosen to apologize. And you, what do you think about it?
