In Australia, the International Astronautical Congress is held.

The opening ceremony in Adelaide was made by the country’s Minister of Education, Senator Simon Birmingham.

In a welcoming speech, he mentioned the plans of the country’s government to establish the Australian Space Agency.

According to him, the future agency will be engaged in space exploration and peaceful developments that can contribute to the development of outer space.

Birmingham noted that to work in the Agency they plan to attract specialists from various fields, thus creating new jobs, and the introduction of new space technologies will allow Australia, together with partners, to work more effectively on joint projects.

Birmingham noted that in the future the Australian government will try to cooperate with colleagues from other countries and plans to start negotiations with NASA, the European Space Agency, and Roskosmos.

The volume of the global space market is estimated at about 400 billion dollars annually. Work in this direction can significantly improve the country’s scientific and technical potential.
